Photo Op - Art Quilt

Art Quilting – a technique where you use both modern and traditional quilting techniques to create art objects. You start with a picture or a concept for the design rather than the traditional “pattern.” This project looks intimidating, but it really is a very simple process that can be easily learned.

You will start this class by selecting and bringing to class two photos that you would like to duplicate in fabric. The first photo you choose should be a landscape, sky, mountains, water, trees, etc… Your second photo should be an object to compliment the piece, generally one single item or figure that readily can be appliqued.  This is not a good project for pictures of people and faces.

Peggy will take you from the beginning to end of the process - from choosing fabric and determining the size of the piece to finishing it.  In this class you will be learning artistic applique and thread painting.
