Serger Ruffle Quilt (4 sessions)



Learn to make quilts fast and easy on your serger. This quilt-as you go technique can have you making a crib size quilt in a weekend! Don't let that serger sit in the closet anymore! Let’s learn to put it to good use!

Using a chain stitch to create ruffles and making a true, quilt -as- you- go- quilt on your serger is just the beginning of what you will learn in this class. This is a four week class where we will use our serger, domestic machine, and a jelly roll to create a beautiful baby quilt.

It is just what you need to get a little more comfortable with that serger.

For a quilt that is approximately 60" x 44" you will need to bring the following:

  • 1/3 yd fabric for each stripe (13 stripes)
  • 1 3/4 yds fabric for the quilt backing
  • Warm & White or Warm & Natural Batting (60" x 44")
  • Thread for sewing the quilt & matching thread for backing the quilt
  • Thread for the rolled hem edge of the ruffles (1 cone stretch thread, 2 cones serger thread (all the same color)
  • 1/2 yd fabric for finding the quilt

Requirements: Need to bring: your serger (must be able to do a roll hem), a ruffle pressure foot, power cord, Sewing Machine, Rotary cutter, pins, and a basic sewing kit.
