Memory Quilts - Quilts made from a collection of clothing collected over a span of many years.
Each quilt takes on the personality of the special clothing items pieced together to celebrate important milestones, showcase achievements and special events, and causes that celebrate each individual’s unique journey and the life of a loved one.
The purpose of the class is to teach others how to put all types of fabrics together to make something to remember their loved ones. There are certain tricks to cutting the clothing out, to make it easier and patterns that are easier to sew.
You can bring any clothing, ties, scarfs or fabric items. The easiest types of fabric to work with are cotton button down shirts and khaki type pants. The items that are more difficult to work with are anything stretchy, especially from both sides, exercise clothing, swim suits, fine fabrics that can snag and sweaters.
