Jewel's is offering a 19 Session Beginning Paper Piecing Sewing Camp for children aged 10 and up, running Jun. 6 to Aug. 11, 2022.
Your little camper will come home with stories about what they learned, the projects they worked on, and the friends they made. Our staff will have fun activities planned every week to cater to every young sewing enthusiast goals!
Camp Highlight: Students will get an introduction to the sewing machine and basic sewing skills. The main focus will be to make blocks for a quilt. Each day campers will work on a paper piecing block design. They will then learn how to add sashing, assemble the quilt top, have it quilted and how to bind.
Skills Campers Will Learn: Students will learn parts of the machine, how to thread and take care of their machine, how to wind a bobbin, straight stitch, reverse, zigzag. They will learn how to use a rotary cutter & mat, and more. Through the process of making their final quilt they will learn beginning traditional paper piecing, how to attach sashing on a quilt, make a continuous bias binding, and how to sew binding on a quilt.
Projects: During this 19 session camp students can make a wide variety of projects: a pin cushion, a drawstring bag to carry all their sewing equipment, and other projects.
Aug 11 , from 7 to 8 pm there will be a Graduation Party to display all of the campers finished projects.

If you pay up front the cost is $220
If you join with a friend the cost per person is $205.
