One Block Wonder (2 sessions)

One Block Wonder quilts are also known as the “stack and wack” or “kaleidoscope” quilts. In these quilts, you use the whole piece of fabric, with virtually no waste. They are special and unique, and reflect YOUR creativity. We could have 10 people all using the same fabric and end up with 10 very different quilts.

The first class is stacking and cutting. The month in between your class will be the sewing of the half hexies and thinking of your design. The second class is getting design feedback and sewing the hexies.

Fabric selection is VERY important. Students get the most desirable finished quilt if you start with a LARGE scale print (like Kaffe or Asian prints). A fabric print with about a 24” repeat is ideal, but anything could work. You need at least 6 repeats of your fabric. With 6 yards, you can use the original fabric for borders, or on the back. Select colors that are pleasing to your taste.

To see if your fabric will work, you can upload fabric photos to

Cindy is available prior to the start of the class, if you need assistance.  She can be reached by text or phone (801) 608-1150 or email
