Beginning Quilting (4 sessions)



Quilting isn't just a hobby, its a new way of life, and its wonderful.  The chance to create beautiful quilts for family and friends is only one of the virtues of quilting.  It feeds the soul!  So, now let's get you started down this wonderful road.  You will be learning 4 blocks; rails, 4-patch, pinwheel, and strips and triangles.  You will also learn the basics of color choice, sashings and borders.

You will need:
1 1/2 yd. of a border/sashing fabric
3/4 yd  of 4 different fabrics (1 light tone fabric, 2 medium tone fabrics, 1 dark tone fabric)

Please bring:
Your sewing machine and accessories
Cutting tools (scissors, rotary blade)
Pins, thread, and ruler (12 in. minimum size)


Requirements: You'll need the following amounts of fabric: Pieced Blocks: 3/8 yard of two coordinated fabrics. It's best if one is light and one is dark. Sashing: 1/8 (4.5") coordinated fabric Border: 1/3 yard Backing: 7/8 yard Binding: 10" The Sashing, Border, Backing and Binding can all be the same fabric if you want. Bring a sewing machine, basic sewing kit, rotary cutter, cutting mat and ruler
